Have you ever struggled with figuring out what you are good at? Do you often find comparing yourself to others? Do you wonder what your passions are? Do you feel like there is more to life than what you are doing?
I think we all feel this way at some point in our lives. Either we don’t fit in, we are stuck doing something we don’t love, we don’t feel “good enough.” We are trying to find happiness in all the wrong places.
Longing for satisfaction and it’s not easy.
The first thing we need to know is that we are each made so different. So amazingly and wonderfully complex. Believe it or not, you are a Masterpiece. You may sometimes not feel it, see it, or believe it. But this is where the truth takes place. Think about an artist. An artist puts all their time and effort into their artwork making it so intricate: molding and shaping it to perfection. There may be some paint spilled, some cracks along the way but then voila! (sounds like wallah) There it is…The artists masterpiece..just how He wanted it. The artist loves His masterpiece. He does everything to care for it making sure it doesn’t fall, or break. The artist looks at His masterpiece and is filled with joy. Take the word and break it apart: MASTER PIECE. It’s the piece that tops all other pieces! Think about this. God is the creator of this world, well…. the whole universe! In Ephesians 2:10 it says ” For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” !!! Let that sink in! To think that He created the whole universe and YOU are His masterpiece. WOW, that blows my mind.
It might take time to truly believe this about yourself but it has to start somewhere.
We are all gifted people. We are not the same as anyone else. If we were all the same then this world would be complete chaos. Now the problem with most of us is that we focus on what we wish we had, we see things we do as negatives instead of strengths we actually have.
One of my friends recently got a group of ladies together to focus on these things together. We are in all walks of life, ages, stay at home moms, in our careers, some loud some quiet but we are all searching to live by our strengths instead of our weaknesses.
We have each taken a strength finder exam. It is amazing how accurate it is. I would definitely recommend it =) You will see other sides of yourself that you never knew and it will give you ideas in how to start using your strengths to your greatest ability!
Check it out, it’s completely worth it! Maybe you can get a group of people together to get to know your strengths. Come on, let’s start living in a way that excites and motivates us into doing things we love and really loving ourselves! Don’t hold back from the GREAT YOU! You have so much life to live and so much to offer this world that you have no idea about.
I would love to hear your thoughts or if you take the exam what you get out of it.
